There are two types of silicone rubber chemistry

1. Addition cure silicones

Heat can be used to speed up curing. A rubber that takes a day to cure at 20°C will take only 2 hours at 60°C and only one hour at 80°C, however minimal shrinkage may occur.

2. Condensation cure silicones

Catalysts or accelerators can be added to increase the rate of cure of these resins. Heat cannot be used to speed up the process.
